2026 marks Terrence Herr’s 31st year in the financial services industry—a career defined by trust, education, and a passion for helping clients achieve lives of prosperity. As Managing Partner of Herr Capital Management, Terry provides thoughtful guidance and dependable strategies for implementing financial and investment plans. His approach centers on collaboration: helping clients define and prioritize what matters most so they can protect, preserve, and grow their wealth with confidence.
Terry believes that trust is the cornerstone of every client relationship. By truly understanding the people he serves, he delivers advice that aligns with both financial and personal goals. His commitment to education—both learning and teaching—stems from lessons passed down by his father and grandfather, who instilled in him the importance of financial literacy. Today, Terry continues that legacy by sharing knowledge and empowering others to make informed decisions.
A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional, Terry earned his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and has served as an adjunct faculty member at DePaul and Northwestern University. His expertise has been featured on NBC, FOX, CBS, WGN, and in publications such as Crain’s Chicago Business, Chicago Tribune, Journal of Financial Planning, and The Los Angeles Times. He has presented at numerous industry conferences and received recognition for his volunteer efforts, including Loyola University’s service award and his high school’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2018.
Beyond his professional achievements, Terry is deeply committed to giving back. From college service trips to Appalachia, the Southwest, and Guatemala, to co-chairing Hunger Week and raising over $50,000 for global hunger relief, philanthropy has always been central to his life. Today, Terry continues to support local organizations, including efforts for Illinois foster children, raising more than $25,000 for Brightpoint, a nonprofit dedicated to disrupting poverty and advancing the well-being of children and families across Illinois through early childhood education, mental health, family support, and child welfare services.
An avid adventurer, Terry has traveled to 19 countries and completed two rim-to-rim hikes of the Grand Canyon, explored Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave—the largest cave in the world—and summited Kala Patthar at 18,519 feet in the shadow of Mount Everest. He has hiked over 500 miles below the Grand Canyon rim, climbed several of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks, and trekked through landscapes from the Appalachian Trail to Death Valley. His outdoor pursuits reflect the same determination and curiosity that define his professional life.
Whether guiding clients toward financial security or navigating the world’s most breathtaking trails, Terry embraces every challenge with purpose and passion.
